Accountancy firm website: services by type of client, clear quotes

How we organise an accountancy firm’s site: services explained for sole traders (PFA), small limited companies (SRL) and firms with employees, a quote request that gathers the details for a fair price, and articles kept up to date.

The question every accountant gets asked is “how much does accounting cost a month?”, and the honest answer is “it depends”. A well-made accountancy firm website explains what it depends on and gathers, in a single submission, the details from which you can work out a price without three rounds of emails.

Beyond that, whoever chooses an accountant is entrusting them with the company’s documents and its dealings with ANAF (Romania’s tax authority). They want to know who signs, whether the firm is authorised and whether it works with businesses like theirs. The site answers all three, with facts that can be checked.

Three different readers: the PFA, the small SRL and the firm with employees

A list along the lines of “accounting, payroll, consultancy, annual accounts” means nothing to someone running their first company. They do not know what they need. That is why we organise the services by who buys them, and each page describes what you do every month, what the business owner has to do and what is paid for separately.

This is also where the limits are drawn: if you do not take on certain sectors or legal forms, it is better to say so on the site than on the phone.

  • PFA and liberal professions: record-keeping, tax returns, e-Factura (Romania’s national e-invoicing system) where it applies, which documents are sent and when.
  • Small SRL with no employees: monthly accounting, dealings with ANAF, e-Factura.
  • Firm with employees: payroll, employment contracts, the related returns.
  • One-off work: rebuilding the books, statements for the bank, support during an inspection.

The quote request: the questions that change the price

The form replaces the first phone call. We split it into a few short steps, so that it does not put people off, and ask only questions a business owner can answer without ringing their former accountant. It has conditional logic: if you tick that you have no employees, the payroll questions disappear.

The answers reach you in a tidy email and in a list in the site’s admin panel. We do not show an automatically calculated price unless you have a fixed price list that you want to make public; otherwise the form promises a reply, not a figure.

  • Legal form and year of incorporation.
  • Whether the company is registered for VAT.
  • Approximate number of documents a month: invoices issued, invoices received, bank statements.
  • Number of employees.
  • Line of business and any cross-border transactions.
  • The invoicing software used and whether there is a cash register.

Useful articles, with an author and a review date

Articles about deadlines, tax returns, e-Factura or SAF-T bring in visitors who have exactly the problem you solve. The condition is that they are correct on the day they are read. Each article has an author, a publication date and a date of last review, and in the admin panel you can see at a glance which pieces have not been checked for a long time.

Tax content is written or approved by the accountant. We look after the structure, headings in the language of the person searching and the links to the service pages. If you do not have time to maintain a blog, a few pages of general explanations, reviewed periodically, are a better choice than dozens of tax news items left to go stale.

Accountancy firm website: proof of trust and the document portal

Trust is built from things that can be verified: the firm’s authorisation, membership of the professional body (CECCAR, the body of chartered accountants) for those who sign, professional indemnity insurance, the names and photographs of the people on the team. We display them with their exact names. We do not add “partner” logos or badges with nothing behind them.

If your accounting software offers a portal where the companies on your books upload documents and view their figures, the site gets a visible access button in the header. We do not rebuild the portal in WordPress and do not keep accounting documents on the site: they belong in the system made for that purpose, with its own access rights and backups.

From page outline to the first enquiries received

The technical base is WordPress with a custom theme; pages can be edited in Elementor Pro, a visual editor that lets you change a piece of copy or a deadline yourself. Data sent through the form travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is kept only for as long as the quote requires.

We measure how many quote requests arrive complete, which pages they start from and what types of business send them. If most come from a profile you do not want, we change the copy, not the advertising budget.

  • Initial call: what kind of businesses you want, how many you can take on, what you turn down.
  • Architecture: the pages by type of client and the questions in the form.
  • Copywriting and design: sober, legible, with the people in the office on show.
  • Build and checks: the form tried out with real scenarios.
  • After launch: technical maintenance and a review calendar for the articles.

Frequently asked questions

Should I show prices on the site?

It depends on how standardised your services are. If you work with fixed packages, a public price list filters out unsuitable enquiries; if the price varies a lot with volume and complexity, the quote form is more honest than a figure that does not hold up.

Can the site receive accounting documents?

Technically it can, but we do not recommend it. Accounting documents contain personal and financial data, and they belong in the accounting software’s portal, not in a website form.

Who writes the articles?

The topics and the checking of the tax content come from you or from a colleague, because responsibility for accuracy lies with the specialist. We draft from your notes and prepare the copy for Google searches.

This is a typical project description: it shows how we usually approach this kind of work and does not present a project carried out for a particular client. Every real project starts from your company’s situation, and the stages, timescales and price are agreed after the initial discussion.
